Start your 4th off on the 3rd like the rest of us who just can't wait until the weekend with Killer Queen - A Tribute to Queen at The Salvage Station. Doors open at 7 p.m. and show starts at 8 p.m. Tickets are $35 in advance and $40 the day of the show.This is an outside venue, so be sure to read the Salvage Station FAQs to learn about parking options, the shuttle service, and everything else you need to know to have a great time at this soon-to-be-relocating Asheville live music venue.
If you prefer something a little kinkier, head on over to Fleetwoods in Westie at 9 p.m. for PSK, aka P*rn Start Karaoke - "You sing, we dance." Bring your favorite karaoke songs and your dollar bills, and get ready for a night to remember! The PSK dance troupe accompanies your karaoke with pole dancing, gogo, and kink performances. Mingle with our dancers and enjoy the thrill of making it rain for a good cause.
On the 4th, head downtown to enjoy the Independence Day Block Party. This free event, sponsored by Ingles, takes place on the South Slope between Coxe and Buxton Avenue. It starts with The Ultimate Air Dogs from 12-5 p.m., as cute puppies compete to see who can jump the furthest. Music will also begin at 1 p.m. at the Funkatorium outdoor stage and go until 9 p.m. Fireworks will start at 9:30 p.m. The entire South Slope neighborhood is participating, ensuring an exciting day filled with kids' activities, live music, and engaging activities for all ages.
If you want to start your July 4th outdoors, the Independence Day Fireworks Hike is your jam. Head to 223 West State Street, Black Mountain, NC 28711, at 6 p.m. to celebrate the 4th of July with a 1.5-mile moderate hike and then view the sunset and Black Mountain’s fireworks display from the peak of Sunset Mountain. Bring a picnic, water, folding chairs, cameras, and flashlights. Dress for inclement and chilly weather. The Swannanoa Valley Museum will provide watermelon and transport cargo to the summit. The cost is $35 for members and $50 for non-members.
